Two Saturdays ago, I broke my arm snowboarding. At that point in time, the ER doc gave me a temporary fiberglass splint and told me to go to the orthopaedic surgeon in a week after the swelling went down to get a real cast. On Monday, I got my real cast.

These days, they can do casts in many different color. I'd planned to get a black one because black matches everything, and it's a bit more sophisticated than a plain white one. Well, sophisticated for a cast, anyway.

As the nurse began prepping the materials for my cast, we talked about the Lakers, who had just made their dismal five-game losing streak into a six-game losing streak the night before. I am quite concerned for my Lakers and decided that I had to do whatever it took to show my support.
